Smoking Dreams

Some of you may have heard of my plans and dreams. I’ve spent over thirty years attempting to write a book of sorts. I want the lifestyle of being able to write and share my stories with the world. It’s not about the money or the fame, I know there’s not a great deal of either unless you’re a very successful author.

I mean, I want some money for being a writer. I person has to survive, but I don’t want riches or grandeur. I would like to not have to worry about paying my rent and other expenses. I’m certain that there’s a happy medium where I can share my thoughts, ideas and stories with my readers and get some remuneration.

Part of my plan for the past few years was to find a way to share my joy of cigars and scotch. Those that know me, know that when I am interested in something I tend to get fixated on the subject. When I get into a book, the book, and characters are the end all, be all of my world. Ask my wife Runningfawn, she’ll attest to the fact that I tell her more about stuff that she doesn’t care about. Being the good wife that she is, she listens to me, makes like she cares and says that if it’s important to me then it’s important to her.

With that being said, she probably knows more about cigars and whisky than she would ever want to know, but she listens to me go on and on about it.

I’ve had several people mention over the years that with my knowledge of cigars and whisky, I should do something with it. Teach people how to enjoy these great items. I’ve thought about it for a few years and considered the medium and method to use.

I’ve concluded that a YouTube channel will be how I share my joy with you, my reader/viewer. I’ve talked to my one son and he will help direct and produce my episodes. My wife will let me disarrange the furniture to “create a set” for my videos.

I’ve written my script for the pilot episode and arranged the times to film my episodes and when it will be delivered. This week, I plan on creating a demo for the cigar shop to get their buy in, and I plan on getting my first episode up for your enjoyment on Friday.

I plan on doing this, my blog, a few times a week, and have my YouTube Channel published once a week. This is the chance for my childhood dream to come to fruition. There’s even a chance down the road that I might take the time to try to write my book again.
