HUGE Update

The last time I wrote in this blog was back in 2017, as explained before I have had several iterations of this blog in various blog sites.

The biggest selection of blogs is at http://walkingjon.blogspot.com . My hopes are to migrate all the blogs over here so that it is all under one “roof”. I have several ideas as to what to blog about and even several different ideas on types of blogs.

I spend a lot of my time thinking of story ideas, these usually consist of long winded day dreams or something akin to a day dream. I have considered using these ideas to propagate my blog. Most of these ideas are self aggrandizing, suddenly becoming rich, perhaps having magical powers, or being a long lost heir to some aristocracy. I’m assuming most people have the same day dreams, what would you do with such powers or funds at your disposal? Would you try to save the world from climate change? Would you just use them for selfish gain?

Many people may not know this, but I was a boy scout in the Canadian Boy Scouts when I was younger, I only spent a year in the scouts but I learned an awful lot. It was from that time that I had my first real goal or ambition. The founder of Boy Scouts, Lord Baden Powell had been knighted for his works, and I decided that was my life long goal. There are many reasons to be knighted by the Queen, and almost anyone can be knighted for various contributions to society. What I didn’t know then but do know now is that Canadians cannot be knighted. That’s right, according to the limited research I have done there is an Act in Parliament called the Nickle Resolution that encourages foreign powers from bestowing such honours to Canadians. From what I understand is that Americans(who revolted against England) can be bestowed such honours, but Canadians(who still use the Queen and the Monarchy) cannot be honoured as such. What’s a person to do? Give up on a dream 35 years in the making? Move to a country that allows such honours and give up their citizenship to the only country they’ve called home? Such a decision shouldn’t be required.

These are some of the things that I think about and consider necessary to share with my vast(!?) fan base. I will endeavour to share more of my thought process in future posts. but for now, I feel that a little housekeeping should be taken care of. (No my love, I am not going to pause my blogging so I can mop the floor or clean the Air Fryer, even though that will be done today as promised.)
