Reruns

In light of the current pandemic, we’re all watching a lot of TV or movies. Now, a normal day for me would be a lot of TV and movies anyway, so no big deal, except I watch a lot of current stuff intermixed with a lot of older stuff and it’s season finale time of the year.

What am I supposed to do? I am current on all of my Netflix, Prime Video, and Crave TV series. I want to watch more, but of what? Honestly, I watch enough of it that when there is something I am even remotely interested in, I watch it right away. There is nothing new for me to watch.

This means that I am on a diet of re-runs, again. Even most reality TV shows that I watch are being impacted by this pandemic, making it so that there is not even not good TV to watch.

A while back we watched a few episodes of Diff’rent Strokes, and nostalgically enjoyed it. It wasn’t good by current standards, but we were remembering the enjoyment the show gave us way back when.

I wish that there was a way for the TV/movie industry to keep making episodes during this pandemic, so there was something to watch. I am fairly certain that the average person would appreciate more of their shows that stopped for the season.

I know it’s a pipe dream. The industry has also been hit with this pandemic and we can’t afford to lose too many TV actors, that would just ruin the next season. Maybe put them in containment suits to do their roles. You don’t even need the original actor, just put someone that remotely sounds like them into a containment suit and put a name tag stating the character’s name. The crew could be filming in containment suits. Maybe make the pandemic episodes dream sequences or drug hallucinations.

Oh! I just thought of something. Isn’t this the time of year that most of the next season’s shows are being taped? Does this mean that there will be a delay in the new seasons of our shows to be released? Perhaps interrupted so much that there isn’t a need for a winter hiatus.

I know I’m being selfish, irresponsible, irrational, and just plain loonie. I’m sorry, Mango.
