Here we go… again!

So, this is my umteenth attempt at starting a blog.  I have loads of ideas for a blog, I know what I want to communicate.  I find after an entry of three, that I lack the drive to continue on.  Let’s hope that this time will be a success.

You probably want to know a little about me.  My name is Dan, I live and work in Calgary, AB, Canada.  I am happily married to my wife of almost 10 years, C.  I have two kids, both boys, one 21, the other 18 at the time of writing this.  I also have a dog, and 2 cats.

My wife and I are at the point in our lives where the empty nest syndrome is close.  Are we looking foward to it?  Perhaps it’s a double edged sword.  On one edge, we want our children to be grown up and productive members of society.  On the other edge, they’re our babies, we don’t want them to ever get hurt or feel lonely, and without us there, there is a good chance that they might have to experience these things on their own.

But that being said, both C and I are dreamers, we’re always dreaming up some sort of adventure.  This time, the adventure is our “retirement”.  I must admit that only being 45, retirement is not really an option, but… living on the road and writing of our adventures and lives, hopefully making money doing it, would definitely be an equivalent to being “retired”.

THIS IS STEP ONE.

Oh, I guess I should elaborate on the plan.

Step one: Write a blog.
Step two: Make money.
Step three: Buy an RV.
Step four: Live in said RV, travelling throughout North America enjoying each others company and the life on the road.

Sounds easy right? Write?

Not to belabour a point too much, but to ensure that understanding is taking root, THIS IS STEP ONE.
