Not so Ancient History

First bit of housekeeping, Yes my love, I know I am supposed to be cleaning instead of doing this, I will get to it. That being said, I wrote that more as a tongue in cheek than seriously. Runningfawn’s and my marriage isn’t what you would consider a run of the mill marriage, she gives me more leeway than the average wife, I do stupid stuff and don’t do stuff that I’m supposed to do but she seems to be able to take it in stride. I don’t have those unrealistic expectations that most wives have with their husbands, we communicate more than I think most couples do. I try to be a good husband, honestly I do, but I know I fall short most of the time. The big thing is that she doesn’t give me crap over something trivial, nor does she give me the “You should know what you did wrong!” BS that other women do.

So here’s a bit of an update from the last time I really blogged, back in 2015, I won a trip to India. Prior to my trip to India, July of 2015 I got a job at our local football(CFL) stadium. I spent 4 years working for the stadium, helping patrons who rented the facility, being liaison between the public and the stadium during football games. In winter I would do minor maintenance, mostly painting, and preparing for the upcoming season.

I loved working for the stadium, helping patrons and the public. During games I would have to do minor security jobs, like remove patrons who were inebriated or disruptive. For the most part it was a good job, very small amount of co-workers, considering the size of the facility, and a great boss.

Of course I am writing this in past tense because I was recently let go from my position. it was a mutual parting of ways between the stadium and myself. This was due to my feeling that I would be unable to fulfill my duties properly due to health issues.

I was going to save my health issues for another entry but I might as well give you the bad news…

I had open heart surgery. For details check out my next entry.
