I am watching a movie called In The Name of the King A Dungeon Siege Tale on Netflix. I started watching it yesterday and it just didn’t seem to catch me. I started watching it because it has Jason Statham in it. I like Jason Statham and am glad that he is moving out of the whole Transporter type character.
I started watching this movie and one of the main characters in the movies is played by Matthew Lillard. I couldn’t figure out where I knew him from so I had to do an IMDB search and it turns out he’s the actor who plays Shaggy on the live action Scooby Doo movies.
Now all I am expecting from the character is him saying somethings like “Zoinks!” or “Hey Scoob, let’s get out of this scary place.”
That’s the problem with being typecast, you come to associate an actor with just one character. The movie has lots of other big names but none of them were really typecast as one character, so I don’t expect Jason Statham to pull out a Transporter quote or Ron Perlman to start with Hellboy or SOA line.
But here I am, in the middle of a big fight scene and I expect Matthew Lillard’s character to revert into Shaggy and I desperately want Scooby Doo to mysteriously show up in the movie. At least there needs to be a mention of Scooby Snax.
I know it’s silly, with all that’s going on, that this is what occupies my thoughts, but here I am considering Scooby Doo in medieval times.
Scooby dooby doo, where are you? Is it really a pineapple?
