So, it appears that I have been missing for the past year and a half. It’s not true. I have been around but not overly active on the blog-o-sphere. I’ve been busy working (IRL) and had a new idea for a book. I’ve rebuilt my danieljscheer.com page and was intending to continue my blog there but since it’s made on my mac with iWeb, I can’t blog anywhere I go, short of taking my laptop with me (and that’s so arduous, like laptops aren’t meant to be portable, are they?).
So basically if you’re here and looking for something to waste your time, or tickle your funny bone, or cause you to think and there’s nothing here, go to http://danieljscheer.com/
What’s been going on for the past year and a half? Not a heck of a lot, I’ve been working at my favorite coffee shop, I moved up into management there and it was decided(not by me) that I wasn’t good enough to be a manager, even though I spent the past year doing just that. Since they didn’t want to promote me and realistically they wanted to demote me, I decided that it was time to go where I was appreciated. I left the employ of the coffee shop and hoped for something bigger, better, as of writing this, nothing has jumped out and offered me a permanent bigger, better.
My kids are growing up, both are taller than me, the eldest is done high school and is going to University this autumn. My youngest is finishing junior high and off to senior high school.
My wife ( http://ihaveanopiniontoo.blogspot.com or Runningfawn) is still working at an insurance company, working as an administrator and still as beautiful as ever.
What’s really new is my appreciation for Cuba, Cuban cigars and Cuban rum. This past November/December, we went with a group of 16 to Cuba (my first time off the continent) and we fell in love with the people. I was a junior in regards to cigars and drink prior to going to Cuba, after leaving I feel like I’ve become a professional appreciator of said cigars and drink. Since Cuba we’ve been in contact with our housekeeper at the resort and still feel the love that she had for us.
Since my employment situation was in the negative, my wife’s company decided that they need someone to finish up some projects that no one had a chance to finish. This position is better paying than management at the coffee shop, better hours, no working weekends, no calls or texts on the day off, but the big downside is that it’s temporary, once the projects are done, or once I find something somewhere else, I’m done.
I can’t think of too much else, I could go into the goings outside our immediate little family, but I digress. I will try to write more, I ALWAYS have more to write, it’s just when the idea strikes, I don’t have the gumption to do it.
Toodles.
